Have owned the Bravia and one Pioneer Elite. The Hitachi is by FAR and away the best in many aspects. “Most” people just don’t know about the new Hitachi technology but would be amazed if they saw it in person.

I’ve owned a Hitachi tube television since 1994. Not once has it given me any problems. I can certainly vouch for Hitachi’s quality. I am now in the market for a plasma and I am definately going with the P50V701. The Director’s series (P50X901) doesn’t have enough features for me to spend $500.00 more. However, if I could, I would because I like the Director’s series Adjustable Color Decoder, which gives you the ability to adjust color settings for the ultimate in natural image reproduction. If I had the money, I would get the P60X901 and have it professionally calibrated. Hitachi makes a great product. People just don’t know because other brands advertise more. Hitachi spends the money on building quality electronics.

We bought a “tue”Hitachi in the very early 80’s. It lasted until 2004 with no problem. It’s picture quality was far better than the other TV’s we owned during the same time. We’re now looking for a 50 inch flat screens and I think the Hitachi P50V701 is it. Went to the big box store the other day they had the Hitachi setting beside another 50 inch that cost 3 times as much. On the other TV the man had green highlights in his hair and re in the face shoadows. THe Hitachi with the same picture the man had natural looking skin and hair. Now most of that depends on who is setting up the TV, but I think that shows that you can get an oustanding picture from the Hitachi that’s at least as good as the higher dollar TV’s.

Just bought this TV. Before this TV I had a smaller LCD HDTV. I was a little worried about going to a larger screen because I thought the picture wouldn’t look as good. Boy was I wrong!
This TV blows away my old LCD. Stunning picture. Amazing depth and clarity. Highly recommended to all.
