With Samsung’s patented FilterBright Plus technology, the images on this television remain clear and crisp no matter what angle you are viewing it from. It also comes with a 1024 * 768 pixel resolution digital cable ready tuner complete with a CableCard slot. This television also has split screen and picture in picture. There is a built in tuner for both digital and analog signals, with an integrated swivel stand for easy placement.
This Samsung Plasma HDTV has superior picture quality, bringing the world of television almost right into the room with you. This is after a customary 100 hour adjustment period. The picture is very clear, but with a bit of a softer element. Enough cannot be said about how great the picture is on this television.
The overall appearance of the Samsung Plasma HDTV is beautiful and adds elegance to any room you choose to put it in. With a shiny black encasing, and swivel stand, it is convenient to set anywhere you would like, whether it is the living room, family room, den, or bedroom. It is just a very attractive television.
However, there does seem to be a serious issue with a buzzing sound with this television. It must be turned up quite loud to get rid of the buzzing noise, and that is not going to make any neighbors living close to you very happy. Nearly everyone who has bought this particular model television has experienced it. Some have contacted Samsung customer support and others have just figured out a solution on their own. The help from Samsung has been mixed, with some support technicians being very helpful, while others have been just as puzzled as the owners about what the problem could be.
The good news is that there DOES seem to be a solution to this annoying issue. Yes, it will cost you money, but you have already spent in the range of $1,000.00 - $2,400.00 for this television. So, what’s another $100.00, more or less? The simple answer is to buy either a HDMI monster cable, or a Monster Power Clean power strip to use in powering your television. Everyone who has opted for this solution has successfully rid themselves of that annoying buzzing sound. No one has really nailed down just what is causing this noise, but if you try the monster cable or power strip, the noise stops. So it may not be such a horrible defect after all.
Once you have the television installed, moved past the 100 hour adjustment period and hooked up with a special power cable, you will have the perfect television. Now, some people may argue that if you have paid this much money for a television set, it should be in perfect condition. That is definitely an arguable point. However, as long as you are aware of what you are and are not getting, you can make an informed decision as whether or not this is a product that will work best for your personal situation.
